Description:
As an Environmental Analyst Intern at LG Energy Solution, your primary responsibilities will involve providing assistance and support to the EH&S team. Your key tasks will include analyzing volume, cost, and rebates associated with various waste streams. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in the management of waste, overseeing waste streams, handling procedures, transportation logistics, and disposal methods. This internship opportunity offers hands-on experience in environmental analysis and waste management within a dynamic and forward-thinking organization.
Responsibilities: At LGESMI you will work directly with our EH&S team on projects that include:
Prepare clear and detailed written reports about inspections/audits to ensure compliance with federal, local, and state regulations
Support the implementation of spill prevention programs and hazardous waste regulations
Maintain an understanding of different production processes in order to facilitate training and provide continuous improvement such as waste/recycling management, storm water management, and others as necessary
Support in the ISO 14001 certification process and lead continuous improvement efforts
Assist with performing internal audits of training programs and other departments to make sure they are up to date and meet proper environmental standards
Collect and analyze environmental data such as air emissions and waste/storm water data
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Pursuing a B achelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering -Junior or Senior standing
Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 GPA or higher
Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation
Ability to be flexible and adapt to new tasks and projects
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goals
