KEY Personnel Accounts Receivable Payroll Specialist NEEDED in Holland, Michigan

A local Zeeland company is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable/Payroll Specialist to join the team!

 

General Summary:

 

Reports to the Controller with the general purpose of processing customer payments of all types (checks, ACH, credit card) and maintaining appropriate records related to Accounts Receivables. Process hourly payroll and perform account reconciliations. Maintain fixed asset records, calculate and post journal entries. Also, able to help with Accounts Payables

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Process and post customer payments - lockbox, ACH, credit cards, etc. - to their account. Post miscellaneous payments/charges to the proper general ledger account(s). Complete filing of accounts receivable documents.  EXPERIENCE WITH EXCEL IS A MUST!!!

     

  2. Reduce Accounts Receivable for items to be paid by Sales Reps load and enter   transactions into general ledger

     

  3. Physically deposit receipts with financial institution, when necessary.

     

  4. Research and notify proper company personnel relating to certain customer deductions. Able to research and reconcile customer payments issues and credits.

     

  5. Process hourly payroll and provide backup for plant timecard processing. Able to answer questions around payroll process, system, and time keeping and assist in researching issues to resolution.

     

  6.  Assist in year-end and month-end closings including calculating, preparing, and recording journal entries.

     

  7. Assist Controller and Accounting/Finance department with special projects and miscellaneous duties.

     

  8. Provide backup for Accounts Payable when necessary.

Skills and Abilities

 

  1. Strong mathematical, analytical and problem skills are required to analyze accounting and finance problems relating to receipts, payroll and reconciliation issues.

     

  2. Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to effectively interact with supervisory staff and other internal/external customers.   Ability to observe and modify work behaviors in a cooperative manner.

     

  3. Ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities and respond under pressure.

     

  4. Previous skills and knowledge to work effectively with various computer systems.

$21 to $24/hr
