Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

  • Perform skilled journey-level work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus, and fixtures.

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul electromechanical and solid-state electrical equipment using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipment

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem

  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes

  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous

  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety

  • Layout and install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes

  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures

  • Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards

  • Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for facilities and equipment

  • Work safely and cooperatively with co-workers

  • Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety, and environmental regulations

  • Responsible for station lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy
