This role is within Intel’s Client Computing Group. CCG is a computing paradigm where services and data reside in scalable data centers, and those services and data can be accessed by any connected device over the Internet. Responsible for designing and optimizing processors, chipsets and other hardware for consumer devices while also working on the software ecosystem, including drivers and utilities that enhance user experience.

· We are seeking a talented and motivated SoC Power Thermal and Performance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for Defining, developing, and performing SoC level power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization plan across Intel products.

Key Responsibilities:

· Defines, develops, and performs SoC level power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization plan across Intel products.

· Understands the business implications of ensuring power and performance KPIs within target and power and thermal limitations.

· Drives SoC level usage optimization under specific scenarios, develops key performance indicators and landing zones, power and thermal benchmarks, and drives execution, reporting, and documentation of results.

· Ratifies optimizations from hardware/software architecture and proposes solutions to software PTP teams.

· Develops power, thermal, and performance validation methodologies, executes validation plans, and collaborates with other engineers for design optimization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.

· Performs SoC level debug to identify root causes and resolves all functional and triage failures for power, thermal, and performance issues.

· Develops validation infrastructure (e.g., performance monitors, behavioral checkers, state space coverage) and test environment used in validation testing.

· Configures and sets up data logger for thermal data collection and analysis.

· Publishes SoC level power, thermal, and performance validation reports summarizing all validation and optimization activities performed, reviews results, and communicates to relevant teams.

· Works with architecture, design, verification, firmware, software, and platform teams to maintain and improve debug, validation test strategy, methodologies, and processes to ensure power, thermal, and performance meet and exceed product completive targets and specifications.

What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):

· Bachelors' degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 8+ years of experience -OR- Masters' degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 4+ years of experience listed below -OR- PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 1+ years of experience.

· 4+ years of experience in:

o Post-silicon validation using test equipment computer systems and test stations.

o Software development with scripting languages such as Python, C and/or Perl

o Analog electronics.

o Computer system architecture.

o Use of electronic lab test equipment.

o Working experience with SoC Performance and power management features.

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

·Experience in/with:

  • CPU microarchitectural.

  • Design verification or validation disciplines system platform level debug and root cause isolation methodology and tools.

  • Power measurement and debug tools.

  • Deep technical knowledge in integrated power delivery circuits.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US $161,230.00-$227,620.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. * Job posting details (such as work model, location or time type) are subject to change.
