Key job responsibilities

We are currently seeking an energetic Data Center Project Engineer to serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers. You will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling the most fascinating challenges in designing, building, and operating Amazon data center facilities. The team is ultimately responsible for project oversight and review of all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural. A fundamental understanding of these systems is required, as the individual will be expected to identify areas for improvement as well as act on data provided from other teams and organizations. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges. This role requires both independent contribution as well as the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams. The scope of projects will include but is not limited to the improvement of electrical, mechanical, fire detection and building automation system.

A day in the life

If you are passionate about the Customer Experience; you think and act globally; and you want to contribute to the operational excellence of Amazon data centers, then this may be the challenge you have been looking for! This position will be hands on in one of our data centers in Virginia, Oregon, Ohio, Mississippi, or California. Daily onsite hours could begin as early as 6am. This position will require the ability to communicate with a variety of vendors, people, and teams with a high level of customer service.

Basic Qualifications

Pursuing Bsc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a similar field Graduating between Fall 2024 and Summer 2025

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SQL, mySQL, or similar database languages Excel Self-starter who shows good judgment and instincts in decision-making Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Quantitative analytical abilities and problem solving skills Proactively and continually improve your level of knowledge about data center relevant technologies. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $39.95/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $88.94/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
