Arcadis Project Transportation Engineer (83697) in Highlands Ranch, Colorado
Job Description: Roles at this level are responsible for a combination of technical, design, and engineering components of projects, meeting financial, quality and timeframe objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations; Oversee scope of work and the operational workload of a project team including sub-contractors, ensuring work is allocated appropriately and resources are fully utilized; Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design or solution; Manage the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues; Manage the production of, and quality assure analysis and design and the associated documentation and reports to ensure they meet or exceed client expectations as well as Arcadis requirements, and they comply with national standards and codes of practice; Present and gain agreement of design options and opportunities to maximize the profitability of design components and drive the implementation of these; Develop effective working relationships with the Project Director or Manager and with the client to ensure there is effective communication of progress and changes, as well as the resolution of issues; Support the Project Director or Manager in the commercial management of the project (e.g. contract, invoicing, debt, etc.) to ensure a successful result; Lead and provide direction and technical advice to team members, to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development; Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client's business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to consolidate personal and company credibility in the industry; Attend client meetings; Increased client contacts, level dependent upon project size. Act as a main point of contact for engineering project components of medium project; Participate in proposal development, level dependent upon project size; Complete technical presentations to client for technical purpose and/or business development; and Perform under the direction of CPM.
Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and (7) seven years of experience in the job offered, or a related occupation.
Special Requirements: Must have academic training or experience in the following: 1. Design Software such as MicroStation and Geopak, OpenRoad Designer, ProjectWise. 2. Desktop applications such as MS 365 software. 3.Technical project management and client relationship management and commercial skills. 4. Extensive knowledge of the AASHTO (Green Book) design manual and other design related publications to perform project design with minimal assistance.
*Professional Engineering Certification from the state of North Carolina is required. *Telecommuting is permitted anywhere in the U.S.
