ITW Planning & Supply Chain Specialist – High Force & Engineered Systems in High Wycombe, United Kingdom

This position is located at our European headquarters in High Wycombe, UK.

Working as part of the High Force & Engineered Systems team, the Planning & Supply Chain Specialist is the interface between Global Dynamic Product Sales and the factory, and as such has a key role in interfacing between the external Selling and Support teams and the internal groups responsible for order fulfilment. The role is therefore proactive in needing to keep abreast of the external situation and understand, and act upon its impact on the internal resources and facilities.

The role is also key in ensuring the correct translation of orders ready for processing and through to manufacturing. All of this is done with a view to maximizing customer satisfaction within the constraints imposed by resource and material availability.

The Planning & Supply Chain Specialist reports organizationally to the Operations Manager for High Force & Engineered Systems. The Planning & Supply Chain Specialist also has strong links with the Low Force Purchasing & Planning teams. This role is also a key member of the wider Planning Team and as such contributes to the improvements in planning techniques used across products, and in support of the Dynamic Business.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  1. Scheduling of new orders into IFS in a timely manner.

  2. Processing one-shots for High Force & Engineered Systems in terms of setting up new assemblies and parts in IFS as well as processing Engineering Change Orders.

  3. Utilising IFS to generate shop orders and requirements to drive through the supply chain

  4. Managing the supply chain through consolidation of the various delivery commitments from internal cells and Purchasing into one agreed order schedule to meet customer expectations. Communicating impact of this to the HF&ES Operations & Engineering teams.

  5. Inventory Management - To maintain the forward requirements for key components and assemblies, achieving MoH of less than 2 and achieve inventory grading requirements, whilst meeting customer expectations regarding lead times and delivery commitments.

  6. Provide accurate, timely and concise feedback through phone and email in order to keep account reps, product support team members and supply chain, appraised of delivery schedule changes at the earliest opportunity.

  7. Provide support for the HF&ES teams initiatives towards Business Improvement.

  8. Through the application of ITW Toolbox Principles (e.g. 80-20, USa, In-Lining), support and proactively engage in the improvement projects to reduce lead-times and increase throughput.

An ONC/HNC, or equivalent NVQ levels in a manufacturing discipline.

Key Experiences

  • Must have previous experience of working in a planning role dealing with electro-mechanical products

  • Previous experience of purchasing/buying would be desirable but not essential

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of working in an engineering manufacturing environment

Key KPIs/other performance measurements

  • Meeting on-time delivery targets for shipments of customer orders

  • Meeting on-time delivery targets for completion of production shop orders

  • Scheduling of customer orders within set time frame

  • Monitoring inventory levels so not be to impacted by grading and/or obsolescence
