MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Collaborate closely with upholstery designers and craftsmen to understand sewing requirements for furniture prototypes.
Execute sewing tasks efficiently and accurately, including stitching fabric pieces, sewing cushions, attaching covers, and other related upholstery tasks.
Interpret sewing patterns and specifications provided by designers to ensure precise and high-quality sewing work on furniture pieces.
Operate sewing machines and other relevant tools to achieve desired sewing results while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
Collaborate with the upholstery team to troubleshoot and address any sewing-related issues that may arise during the prototype development process.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized sewing workspace, ensuring proper care and maintenance of sewing equipment.
All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent
REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience as a Sewer, Seamstress, or similar role in an upholstery or furniture manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in sewing techniques, including operating sewing machines, stitching fabrics, and following sewing patterns accurately.
Strong understanding of different fabrics, sewing materials, and their applications in upholstered furniture.
Ability to interpret and execute sewing instructions and specifications to achieve precise and high-quality results.
Attention to detail and precision in sewing work to meet quality standards and design specifications.
Team player with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with designers and other team members..

Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push & pull up to 25 lbs and capable of operating office equipment. Position may occasionally require moderate lifting (25-45 lbs). Use of lifting aids or partner lifts are required per policy and procedures.
Manual dexterity and foot/hand/eye coordination is necessary to control industrial material handling equipment and vehicles.
Subject to fluctuating temperatures within in the work facility, as impacted by the weather.
