Our technology allows organizations to protect their data in SaaS apps from any location, device, or network.

Defender for Cloud Apps is the most used service for protecting SaaS apps used by enterprises worldwide. And it's all being developed here, in Israel.

Responsibilities

As a principal software engineer reporting directly to a group engineering manager, you will effectively serve as the group technical lead. In this critical role, you will extend the executive's attention and authority, providing additional leadership and technical bandwidth to oversee particularly complex and high-impact projects. You will work closely with the leadership team, diving into urgent and strategic areas, aligning with the leader's strategic vision, and ensuring the successful execution of essential initiatives. This role requires deep technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset.

You are expected to:

  • Serve as a key advisor and confidant to leaders in the team, aligning closely with their strategies, values, and priorities.

  • Attend staff meetings, providing technical insights and helping to shape strategic decisions.

  • Represent the org in various forums, ensuring consistent communication and implementation of leadership directives.

  • Coordinate initiatives, managing dependencies and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

  • Provide clear and concise communication of technical issues and solutions to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams and leads, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging professional development and knowledge sharing.

  • Ensure technical decisions align with business goals and promote long-term sustainability and scalability.

  • Optimize processes and workflows, enhancing overall productivity and effectiveness across the organization.

Qualifications

Required skills:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software and Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 12+ years of professional experience as a softwareengineer building large-scalesystems.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others around you.

  • Experience working closely with senior executives, providing strategic and technical guidance.

  • Deep expertise in software development, architecture, and design principles, including experience with distributed computing platforms for high-scale systems and massive amounts of data.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desired skills:

  • Experience in leadership roles of a large-scale, complex organization.

  • Experience with OOP languages (Java preferred) and databases (MongoDB, Cosmos DB, Redis, Azure Data Explorer preferred).

  • Background in data security and cloud-based applications(Kubernetes preferred).
