JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State College of Medicine, Penn State Clinical and Translational Science (PSCTSI), in Hershey, PA, seeks a Research Project Manager Level 1 (Professional Level) for a human subject's research staffing and infrastructure program called ASAP (Accelerated Staffing Assistance Program). The primary responsibility is providing direct project support for a variety of human subject's research projects, including but not limited data management and analysis, participant recruitment, consenting, and retention, leading community engagement activities, developing materials for IRB submission, and managing regulatory compliance for assigned projects. The position will advise principal investigators and research staff on best practices related to study activities and design project work-flow processes and project infrastructure tools, as needed, in order to achieve project goals and improve results. The position will be responsible for managing scope of work and cost-share budget agreements, as well as monitoring labor distribution across all supported projects. This position may also assist in writing manuscripts and other scholarly products, developing research resources for a resource library, and networking with university faculty, staff and leadership to promote ASAP.
The mission of the Penn State CTSI is to promote and support interdisciplinary, high impact, clinical and translational health research, including by serving as a university-wide institutional infrastructure resource. The CTSI is housed in the Penn State College of Medicine (CoM) at the Hershey campus and in the College of Health and Human Development (CHHD) at the UP campus. It is the institutional home for the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA), funded by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), one of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
This position works under supervision of the CTSI Senior Research Project Manager and Research Navigator. Qualified candidates will be detail oriented, produce high quality work, communicate clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing, demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills, and participate in and support team decisions and responsibilities. Exceptional time management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and an ability to work independently after onboarding, are critical to the role. Working knowledge of REDCap or Excel, CATS IRB submission platform, and other Penn State or equivalent institutional research resources is strongly preferred.
Minimum Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree
At least 3 years prior human subjects research experience, as a Clinical Research Coordinator or Project Manager
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, withpossibility of refunding.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $56,200.00 - $81,500.00
