JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, in Hershey, PA is seeking a part time overnight sleep technician.

Responsibilities include:

Accountable for all overnight sleep research recordings; monitor and track research studies to ensure quality control.

Perform PSGs and DXA Scans and participate in the collection of Actigraphy, Holter EKG Monitor and other research participant data.

Maintain supplies for sleep laboratory as well as recording equipment to ensure it is in working order at all times for research studies.

Collect and analyze biological samples (saliva, urine, blood) and knowledge of phlebotomy desired but not required. Training is available if needed.

Participate in aspects of sleep data management for assigned projects including: update and maintain databases; resolve problem data issues; track data collection forms, and other project materials; perform verification procedures.

Collaborate with project coordinators, statisticians, clinical investigators, clinical personnel, and other data management personnel to plan and implement sleep data management tasks for research projects.

Work Hours: Part time, PRN hours, working 3rd shift, including weekends, 8:30 pm-8:30 am

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) strongly preferred. Will consider sleep studies training in candidates with suitable experience.

Work Related Experience: 1 year related work experience required; 5 years preferred
