Job Title: Architect – Digital Manufacturing Solutions * Location:* Hershey, PA preferred but open to remote * Summary:* The Architect for Digital Manufacturing Solutions is a technical solutions manager, focused on leveraging technology in manufacturing to transform business processes, improve visibility, enable the workforce, and improve operational agility, quality, and productivity. This position will architect and lead complex solution design, development, and testing involving the integration of multiple products, processes, or systems into complete business solutions. Works closely with customers, business analysts, team members, and other staff to understand business and IT requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions. Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. * Major Duties/Responsibilities:* * Responsible for architecting, developing, configuring, and deploying connected work tools to digitize work systems that provide end-to-end visibility and digital production management to seamlessly integrate the tools needed to operate our production lines and support troubleshooting and decision making. * Innovation in Digital Manufacturing: architecting and implementing advanced business intelligence solutions, conducting deep dive analyses of business problems and assisting in identifying opportunities to address business needs with technology solutions. * Supporting Operational Improvement Projects: focusing on sustainable gains in reliability, quality, safety, cost, and delivery using methodologies like TPM and LEAN. Assist functions/manufacturing groups in identifying opportunities, collecting, analyzing business requirements, and performing data analysis to address business needs. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: working with division, factory, and internal partners to achieve business outcomes. * Responsible for solution architecture modeling, specification development, and technical design decisions for prioritized projects working collaboratively with analysts, engineering/OT, implementation partners, and key business stakeholders. * Assesses complex technical environments and defines requirements for integration of new solutions, maintenance, and optimization. * Ensures solutions are scalable and can be sustained with close adherence to reference architectures and standards. * Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, internal partners, customers, and others through good interpersonal skills. * Identify goals and objectives, success criteria, and action items/deliverables for completing projects in conjunction with Project Managers, Product Owners, and Solution Managers. * Up to 25% travel to manufacturing sites both domestic and international based on business need. * Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:* * 5+ years of experience in software development leading MES, MOM, or Connected Worker implementation projects. Past roles may include system architect, software engineer, system engineer, or systems integrator. * 5+ years’ experience in web development designing and developing software applications using some or all of the following languages/technologies: C#, ASP.NET, Python, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and MS SQL database experience with TSQL. * Experience in discrete manufacturing, batch processing (ISA-88), and the ISA-95 framework with the ability to architect manufacturing information solutions. * Experience with OPC UA, MQTT, and UNS preferred. * Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies such as AI, ML and/or APC preferred. * Experience with API integration and development. * Experience with industrial control systems and manufacturing platforms (SCADA, MES, MOM, Data-Historians, etc.) would be highly preferred. * Experience in CPG industry preferred. Experience with Food and Beverage manufacturing would be highly preferred. * Strong working knowledge of Agile Software Development Life Cycle and Application Life Cycle Management. * Experience using a DevOps approach to managing systems or solutions. Azure DevOps experience preferred. * Experience eliciting customer requirements and specification development. * High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision. * Familiarity with the ITIL framework and change management processes. * Minimum Education Requirements: * * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering (Software, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical) or related field is the minimum qualification.
