ManTech Video Engineer - Design in Herndon, Virginia

Video Engineer – Design

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Attend customer meetings and conduct site surveys.

  • Ability to translate customer requirements into functional system designs.

  • Understand architectural/construction drawings and documentation.

  • Design and engineer complex audio/video/VTC systems.

  • Provide floor plans and elevations.

  • Create engineering, programming, and installation labor estimates.

  • Will not have supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance for integration and/or installation teams.

  • Audio/Video systems configuration and testing.

Hours of coverage:

Individual shift may vary, but you will be a member of a team that provides coverage from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally with colleagues, project stakeholders and the client.

  • Understanding industry best practices in audio, video and control systems design/integration for conference rooms, operation center watch floors, training rooms, and VIP offices.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to assess customer needs, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate customer satisfaction.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

  • Must demonstrate ability to thrive and succeed in a challenging environment.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Able to interact with individuals from all levels of the organization.

  • Basic understanding of IP technologies.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite to include Visio and Power Point.

  • BA/BS and 4 years of experiences, or a combination of education and work experience equivalent to 8 years.

  • Experience with:

  • A/V switching systems.

  • Commercial Audio (understanding of audio theory, signal flow and gain staging).

  • DSP technology (including DANTE).

  • Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred.

  • AVIXA CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices.

  • Must be able to position self to maintain equipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50 pounds or more, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts.
