Job Opportunity: Survey CAD Technician

Our client, a reputable civil engineering consulting firm in Herndon, VA, is looking for a Survey CAD Technician. With 34 years of industry experience, the firm focuses on land development projects for both residential and commercial clients. The Survey Division employs advanced technology, such as GPS surveying equipment and digital data collectors, to efficiently transfer raw data to CAD systems, ensuring high precision in project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the survey team.

• Process field data to create plats and plans.

• Prepare cutsheets for construction stakeout.

• Conduct research on deeds, plats, and record drawings.

• Develop boundary composite maps and property descriptions.

• Convert 3-D point clouds into surfaces and contours.

• Follow company CAD drafting standards.

• Create existing conditions plans and exhibits.

• Format and prepare ALTA survey documents.

• Draft easement plats and descriptions.

• Produce As-Built drawings.

Work Environment

This hybrid position involves both on-site work in Herndon, Virginia, and remote workdays. The office culture is supportive and collaborative, with an open-door policy to facilitate quick assistance and effective teamwork.
