Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, Amazon Cyber Threat Intelligence in Herndon, Virginia
Description
The Amazon Security Threat Intelligence (ACTI) organization is responsible for investigating and understanding threat actors that are targeting Amazon’s businesses. As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) you will be a member of the ACTI Engineering Team. You will work as a leader in a team of talented and energetic security professionals and software engineers responsible. You will be supporting engineering platforms that include open-source, vendor licensed, and native AWS components. These platforms support security missions across Amazon and its customers to better understand threats facing the company. Additionally, working with internal intelligence analysts and external customers to better understand their daily workflows and needs will be required. You’ll be a critical part of an organization focused on building and influencing the security culture within Amazon, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the continued safety and security of our customers.
The successful candidate will have a good mix of technical knowledge, security fundamentals, security threat intelligence experience, and program management. We are looking for TPMs who like to solve problems, and remove obstacles. The successful candidate is one who enjoys working directly with customers and engineers to understand their scenarios, and help the team design and deliver security systems and solutions that enable them operate more effectively. You will design and build tooling, drive process improvements, and work with other teams and cutting-edge technology to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. You will be able to prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery. You are proactive in removing roadblocks, and can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will influence diverse teams, and be able to effectively rally support for your initiatives and be able to help deeply technical teams create simple solutions to meet their customer goals. You are able to handle business escalations with a data-driven approach to build trust with engineers and senior leaders.
Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will define, own and drive technical security initiatives that span multiple security teams and organizational boundaries. You will partner with technical leadership to identify company-wide opportunities to build systems that support our threat intelligence mission. You will help identify new areas of investment and work to align other group's engineering roadmaps to deliver on these opportunities and optimize delivery outcomes. You will help drive internal roadmaps and prioritization to best meet customer needs. You will contribute to engineering design efforts by looking broadly across customers and providing this insight back to the team. As a technical leader, you will influence strategy and outcomes across multiple Amazon organizations. You will communicate overall program health and status by developing and monitoring program performance metrics, reporting program status and health, and managing internal escalations.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of technical product or program management experience
5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
