Conduent Accounting Services Analyst I in Hermosillo, Mexico

Manufacturing Services Purchasing organization in Logistics Purchasing is responsible for Strategy development, Sourcing and Management of Activities and Relationships between GM Production facilities and 3rd Party Value Added Assembly (VAA) & Logistics Optimization Centers (Warehousing/ Sequencing/Kitting) suppliers.

What You'll Do:

  • Management and control of all purchasing activities related to contracts including negotiations on price, service levels, terms and conditions.

  • Develop and manage suppliers under the guidance of Quality, Service, Technology and Price.

  • Analyze and apply appropriate tools like cost models, benchmarking, competitive sourcing, value chain analysis, to arrive at the best sourcing option for the specific GM manufacturing location.

  • Support development of strategies for consolidation and optimization of VAA and LOC facilities to reduce costs, explore new and dynamic storage options to provide flexible options for production plans.

  • Review head count additions, capital expenditure requests resulting from changes in operating plans at GM manufacturing locations. Engage in cross functional discussions with GM Production plants, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, Finance to approve or develop alternate proposals.

  • Support discussions with stakeholders (GM Real Estate & Manufacturing Engineering) on decisions to direct lease or own VAA and LOC facilities, duration of such leases based on strategic intent and commercial terms.

  • Quarterly Audit review with GM Lease Accounting to ensure accurate and timely reporting of capital and lease expenses per standard accounting policies.

  • Engage in make/buy evaluations on VAA’s based on long-term vehicle production plan, supplier competitiveness, in-house manufacturing competitiveness and market dynamics in specific geographical location.

  • Organize operational excellence (OPEX), cross functional cost reduction workshops between Purchasing, Manufacturing and Suppliers at VAAs and LOCs focused on lean material strategies and shop floor waste elimination initiatives.

  • Maintain and develop solid strategies for material movement, material storage and material delivery at VAAs and LOCs. Support plans to meet Cost per Unit (CPU) goals & spend reduction activities of GM assembly plants.

  • Member of cross functional leadership launch review meetings including Global Supply Chain (GSC), Vehicle Launch Execution (VLE), Vehicle Systems Manufacturing Engineering (VSME) to ensure GVDP (Global Vehicle Development Program) milestones are met and to remove obstacles to ensure flawless launch on new programs.

  • Encourage sharing of learnings and best practice on supplier strategy, pricing models, cost reduction initiatives with peers, read across between GM production facilities in North America.

  • Engagement and proactive resolution of supplier issues. Ensure un-interrupted services and prevention of plant downtimes.

  • Evaluate performance of suppliers through Strategic Supplier Engagement tools using objective and soft metrics. Establish strong relations with supply base.

  • Keep abreast of latest developments in supply chain management, lean material techniques, market and supplier intelligence to advise leadership on strategic opportunities for GM.

  • Ensure full compliance to safety regulations, legal requirements, purchasing & accounting policies and procedures.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree. Preferably degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Business

  • Purchasing Experience, including ability to learn purchasing systems – SAP/Ariba

  • Understanding of Supply Chain functions and Production facilities, preferably experience working at a Production facility or prior experience in a role with high levels of interaction with GM Assembly plants.
