Summary About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities. Responsibilities Develop short and long-range plans for integration, operation and maintenance of the logistics system. Communicate the statements of work (SOW) with appropriate stakeholders to build cost estimates. Review planning data to ensure statements of work (SOW) aligns with organizational strategy requirements. Maintain surveillance over programs in order to ensure completion of program is met in accordance with the statements of work (SOW) and production timeline. Develop new procedures or guidance on program processes for the organization. Write local policies regarding requirements for logistics or program efforts. Specialized Experience for GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Entering logistics-related data into logistics management databases, 2) Analyzing logistics data for logistics reports (i.e. data mining, data modeling, or cost or benefit analysis), and 3) Assisting with preparing logistics operational plans for the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience for GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Preparing logistics operational plans for the organization, 2) Maintaining logistics management databases of logistics information, 3) Preparing reports on logistics performance measures and 4) Recommending improvements to existing or planned logistics processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Time in Grade Requirement for GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
