Jacobs Utilities Coordinator Professional Associate in Henderson, Nevada

Utility coordination on roadway and transportation projects. Focusing also on traffic engineering. Include plan preparation and review. Play an integral role in the design and construction of roadway projects, managing and utilizing reporting tools to gather information as it relates to the project. Able to draw on previous experience to overcome issues to keep the design and construction phases of the project moving according to the timeline and schedule. Provide effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques. Diligent management of documentation to ensure decision making and progress is accurately recorded.

TRAVEL: Up to 10%. Local travel to Project Meetings and Project Site Visits. Possible periodic visits to other Jacobs offices for meetings/training.

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or closely related field and 4 years of work experience in job offered or closely related Civil Engineering occupation. As an alternative employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or closely related field and 6 years of work experience in job offered or closely related Civil Engineering occupation.

SPECIFIC SKILLS: Expertise/ knowledge of: Extensive Experience scheduling and leading meetings with utility owners, stakeholders, surveyors and a multi-discipline design and contractors. Extensive experience managing the leading design of utility relocation work on public transportation projects. Experience assembling and reviewing construction documents and specifications. Demonstrate skills on concept and development of design optimization systems for technical guidance for decision making. Ability to review utility relocation and protection designs and produce clash detection and utility coordination registers. Ability to create designs and develop drawings in accordance with utility authority standards and requirements. Demonstrate an understanding of the design process, co-ordination of work with other design disciplines and the efficient management and delivery of projects within budget, program, and quality constraints. Ability to undertake detailed analysis, calculations, and design. Demonstrate Ability to prepare cost estimates, specifications, utility conflict matrices and exhibits, communication logs, relocation trackers, pothole exhibits, ROW exhibits and utility submissions trackers. Ability to review legal documents and easement documents provided by utility owners and make a determination if they hold prior rights on the facilities within project limits. Ability to review project scopes, project budgets and preparing design schedules.
