Job Title: Jr Electrical DesignerJob Description
The Junior Electrical Designer is responsible for assisting in the design of small- and medium-scale project systems and components during the Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document Phases. This role involves working closely with designers or engineers to ensure project designs meet the required standards and scope.
Responsibilities
Collect materials required for designs.
Draft designs using computer-aided design (AutoCAD and Revit) software.
Create diagrams and layouts to illustrate the workflow of designs.
Collaborate with the design team to review drawings and designs.
Adjust drawings according to feedback from engineers or designers.
Ensure designs comply with company regulations and quality standards.
Set up drawings and configuration files.
Provide basic calculations for use by the design team in preparation of the project documents.
Manage general download and files received from outside consultants and architects.
Work from rough sketches, verbal direction, and specifications created by engineers and designers.
Provide quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer inquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
2+ years of experience in electrical design.
Experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems.
Commercial electrical experience.
Ability to draft and create detailed electrical designs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with multifamily projects preferred but not required.
Team player with strong collaboration skills.
Eager to continue learning and developing professionally.
Work Environment
This position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates located in Las Vegas, NV, San Diego, CA, Boulder, CA, or New Orleans, LA. Candidates in Las Vegas will be required to come into the office on Mondays for production meetings. Occasional travel may be required, including a week-long trip to Las Vegas in the first few months of hire for team integration and training. The employee will be provided with a laptop. The work week is 32 hours, Monday through Thursday, with diverse projects in hospitality, commercial, multifamily, industrial, and medical sectors.
