Job Title: Plant Maintenance Technician (Mechanical and Electrical)

Job Description

The Plant Maintenance Technician will work on various types of process equipment, piping, and controls. With minimal supervision, you will repair, test, adjust, or install mechanical equipment, such as pumps, blowers, compressors, piping systems, gauges, and various types of process equipment commonly used in the water and air pollution control industry. You will also be responsible for electrical troubleshooting, pipe fitting, and assembly, particularly with PVC. Additionally, you will install or replace meters, regulators, or related measuring or control devices under supervision, maintain repair records, and adhere to safety procedures and programs. This role requires being 'On Call' after hours for urgent maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, test, adjust, or install mechanical equipment, such as pumps, blowers, compressors, and piping systems.

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Fit and assemble piping, particularly with PVC.

  • Install or replace meters, regulators, or related measuring or control devices under supervision.

  • Maintain repair records and adhere to safety procedures and programs.

  • Be available 'On Call' after hours for urgent maintenance needs.

Essential Skills

  • Industrial maintenance experience.

  • Proficient with hand tools.

  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.

  • Electrical troubleshooting expertise.

  • Pipe fitting and assembly skills.

  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical skills required.

  • Basic electrical skills desired.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in industrial or domestic wastewater treatment preferred.

  • HAZWOPER or Confined Space Entry Certification is desired.

  • Courses in wastewater treatment are desirable.

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Welding, fabrication, general construction, or heavy equipment operation ability a plus.

Work Environment

You will be working in an industrial water treatment plant. The position is for the 1st shift, which runs from 6am to 2:30pm. The role requires the ability to lift and carry materials up to and in excess of 50 pounds, perform work outdoors in inclement weather, reach with hands and arms overhead, and bend at the waist, kneel, or lie down to perform work. Vision abilities required include close and color vision.

This is a Contract position based out of Henderson, Nevada.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
