Actalent Electrical Designer in Henderson, Nevada

Job Title: Electrical DesignerJob Description

The Designer is responsible for the discipline design of small- and medium-scale project systems and components during Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document Phases according to the requirements of the project scope of work and the organization's design standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design for the Design Development, Construction Document, and Construction Phases of the project

  • Work with the drafting team for setups, updates, and completion of redlines

  • Prepare the required calculations and code evaluations for review by the Engineer

  • Create the drawing package and written documents per contract scope and deliverable guidelines

  • Package documents for submission to the client for deliverables

  • Attend project meetings

  • Coordinate with architects and other consultants in a timely and professional manner

  • Follow discipline standards per the design manual

  • Follow drafting standards per the design manual

  • Coordinate with admin staff for project admin needs and ensure tasks are completed per the admin manual

  • Resolve any discrepancies with the signing Engineer

  • Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

  • Assist with responses to submittals, RFI’s, and shop drawings promptly with review by Engineer before responding

  • Attend discipline site observation visits and assist in the preparation of reports

  • Train the Junior Design staff to empower and advance their knowledge in design and calculations for the plans and specifications

  • Provide quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer inquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

Essential Skills

  • Electrical design

  • Revit

  • AutoCAD

  • Power distribution

  • Lighting design

  • MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) design

  • Experience with Construction Documents

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience

  • Commercial experience

  • Multifamily experience is a plus

  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish

  • Experience managing a team

  • EIT (Engineer in Training) preferred

  • Working towards PE (Professional Engineer) is a plus but not mandatory

Work Environment

This position will be fully remote with a preference for candidates located in Las Vegas, NV, San Diego, CA, Boulder, CA, or New Orleans, LA. If located in Las Vegas, attendance at the office on Mondays for production meetings is required. The role includes a 32-hour work week, Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Occasional travel is required, including potential trips to Las Vegas for a week within the first few months of hire to meet the team and get up to speed. A laptop will be provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00
