Purpose of the Position: The Electrical Facilities Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, repairing, and improving site electrical systems within the facility, including high voltage distribution, switching, substations, power monitoring, lighting, and controls systems. This role ensures electrical reliability, safety, and compliance with regulations, while supporting facility operations and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in electrical engineering and experience in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems for facility operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments and contractors on electrical upgrades, equipment installations, and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot electrical system failures and malfunctions, providing timely and effective resolutions to minimize operational disruptions.
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including NEC, OSHA, and NFPA codes.
- Optimize energy usage and implement strategies for cost-effective, energy-efficient operations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, maintenance records, and compliance reports.
- Assist in developing capital projects and facility expansions related to electrical infrastructure.
- Support emergency response efforts in the event of electrical system failures or outages.
