In this role…

At Ford, you will work on complex applications with other engineers and experts in cloud technologies. As a senior software and machine learning engineer, you will be building models to drive reach, personalization and matching, data analysis and software development across our backend and frontend applications. This unique role encompasses complex system and algorithms across distributed systems and infrastructure.

What you'll do...

• Design, develop, and implement complex systems and models, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and integrations with Ford enterprise systems

• Analyze source data and data flows, working with structured and unstructured data

• Apply advanced Machine Learning concepts, theories, and principles to create multi-disciplinary innovations and solutions for the most complex or risky business situations.

• Develop and socialize new engineering principles and practices to improve the organization

• Evaluate and recommend new and emerging products and technologies

• Provide thought leadership and perspective across multiple organizations to eliminate knowledge silos

*You'll have... *

• Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Data Science or related field OR a combination of education and equivalent work experience

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in web applications, full-stack development, API and backend systems.

• 10+ years of database experience including SQL and/or NOSQL

• 8+ years of experience on programming and design patterns; proficient knowledge in Java, Typescript, JavaScript, Python, Golang, Scala, Node, GraphQL and REACT and NEXJS frameworks.

• 6+ years of experience with software operations (Source Management, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, DevOps, Observability, Support and maintenance)

• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Platforms and Products in AWS, GCP and/or Azure

• 4+ years of experience in personalization, predictive modeling and recommendation systems leveraging Data Science methodologies

• 4+ years of experience in search technologies using Elasticsearch

• 3+ years experience building complex algorithms for matching, high volume and low latency system evaluations, serving millions of transactional processed daily.

• 3+ years of experience with Big Data, Big Query and Distributed Systems.

• Previous experience scaling applications and infrastructure

• Previous experience in design and development leveraging agile methodologies

• Experience in managing cross-functional technical design and delivery dependencies across complex systems

• Strong verbal and written communications skills

• Startup or building 0-1 green field solutions and applications

• Developed solutions leveraging AI, LLM and/or NLP

• Experienced in hybrid teams in different regions and time zone
