Our diverse team of community development professionals support the thriving and unique legacy in communities across Montana. *Job Overview We are currently recruiting one position. This position works with the Department of Commerce and Community MT Community Resource Development team to provide outreach and technical assistance planning/infrastructure teams. This position performs a variety of specialized, complex, and technical analysis and administrative duties. This position is responsible for providing detailed technical assistance, outreach, information, and expertise to local grant applicants, recipients, and partners, administering contracts and managing grants from start-up to project completion, coordinating and performing grant application evaluations, and award processes, and assuring program and project compliance with federal and state requirements. This position is open until filled with a first review date of June 19, 2024. What are we looking for?__ Education and Experience: // · A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Planning, Economics, Architecture, Humanities, or other related area plus two (2) years of job related experience that includes planning and financing of community revitalization, economic development, public facility improvement, housing development, and/or grant management. · Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. · A professional certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is desirable. Competencies: /Knowledge of:/ · Land use planning best practices and community development concepts. · Program planning, public administration, management, and fiscal accountability practices. · Familiarity with grant program terminology, rules, guidelines, and procedures. · State and federal laws and administrative rules that apply to grant projects, such as procurement and labor standards. /Ability to:/ · Work independently, coordinate and supervise project activities under general guidance and direction. · Analyze and interpret financial information, including grant and loan disbursement amounts, facility user fees, and bonded indebtedness. · Exercise intendent authority to manage a large and complex workload, and to respond to non-routine situations. · Ability to pay close attention to detail and follow oral and written instructions.
