Prepares soiled linen for washing. Loads and unloads washers. Cleans work area and maintains supplies. Finishes clean linens according to the property?s standards. Checks equipment and keeps maintenance records on machinery. Specific Duties: - Informs the Assistance or Executive Housekeeper about all matters pertaining to the laundry room. - Drops linen from chute on a regular basis (10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, etc.) - Prepares soiled linen for washing. - Loads and sets cycles on washers (using proper posted procedures) - Loads and set cycles on dryers (using proper posted procedures) - Unloads washers and dryers - Fold linen and terry - Keeps the laundry room neat and clean. - Checks wash cycles regularly for proper performance, writes up a maintenance request for any problems. Keeping an eye on safety mechanisms. - Checks and stocks supplies on the upper floors. (carts & closets) - Finishes linens according to property quality standards. - Keeps record of discarded linens. - Prepare Banquet Linens for Events as required. - Deliver all sheet sets to carts and closets by end of day (no clean folded linen should be left in laundry room) - Performs other related duties as directed by the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant. - Follow directions as directed by management. Formal educational qualifications are not generally needed, but applicants should be able to read and understand written instructions. Training usually takes place on the job, supervised by an experienced member of the staff.
