State of Montana Community Services Program Specialist (01221) in Helena, Montana
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Human and Community Services Division, Intergovernmental Human Services Bureau. The Intergovernmental Human Services Bureau manages over 10 safety net programs that are targeted to alleviate poverty and strengthen communities. Through partnerships with local human service and community action agencies, services such as energy assistance, weatherization, community services, housing assistance, and food distribution improve the lives of community members and promote self-sufficiency for individuals and families. This position works as part of a committed and passionate team that manages the Community Services Block Grant, Emergency Solutions Grant, Housing Stability Services, and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS programs. These programs have an impact that goes beyond providing financial assistance by playing a crucial role in maintaining family stability, improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations, and supporting local programming. The Community Services Program Specialist: · Analyzes, interprets, and explains program regulations, policies, and procedures to sub-recipients and staff, stakeholders, and clients. · Guides sub-recipients in the design and delivery of their local programs and recommends administrative controls, organizational and program structures. · Allocates funding resources and submits program state plans and other funding requests and works with management to facilitate program implementation. · Analyzes data and recommends program changes to increase program effectiveness and ensure program objectives are met. * * Why Join DPHHS * * Our mission at DPHHS is to serve Montanans in their communities to improve health, safety, well-being, and empower independence.
