As a Humana Total Rewards Well Being & Benefits Business Intelligence Engineer 2, you will be part of a growing team that is disrupting the way Human views and understands our Associates and Dependents health care data. The goal is to help our internal/external partners engage faster, smarter, and more holistically with our Associates and Dependents health care data utilizing state of the art risk categorization and stratification tools to identify opportunities to improve the health of our Associates and Dependents through new and competitive plan benefits.
The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 will have considerable latitude to create a compelling visual story of our health and risk data. You will be responsible for all stages of the development, documentation, and dissemination of dashboards, with the goal of gaining a deeper understanding of the health risk categorization and stratification of the Humana Associate/Dependent population. A significant amount of attention and time will be spent developing dashboards and providing insights utilizing data from the ACG tool. The Adjusted Clinical Groups (ACG) tool is a healthcare classification system built by Johns Hopkins Data Scientists to cluster patients based on their diagnosis, age, gender, and healthcare resource utilization to predict future healthcare needs and costs. The system is a local server-based application that utilizes eligibility, medical, laboratory, and pharmacy data to categorize risks and stratify each risk by utilization and spend.

Responsibilities
Research, create, and test dashboards for our internal/external partners and leadership: Create visualizations (dashboards) to monitor trends, utilization and timelines that enhance internal/external partners overall understanding of Humana’s population risk categorization and utilization and spend stratification.
Develop visualizations (dashboards) using Power BI that assist internal/external partners to address identify specific risks (individuals and groups), identify gaps in care, improve efficiencies and enrollment of existing services/programs, implement new risk based clinical interventions and programs, monitor intervention/program performance/success, and reduce preventable events.
Build a portfolio of visual aids across Humana seeking out new and innovative use cases.
Collaborate internally and externally utilizing ACG to provide strategic analytical support and insight for new opportunities. Align ACG communication with internal/external partners to continuously improve approaches to integrate population risk categorization/stratification and risk intervention strategies into the Humana plan benefits.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing thought leadership in support of health care data analysis.
Demonstrated experience producing high functioning dashboards using Power BI.
Expert-level knowledge of Excel and Excel functions (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF functions, Formulas, Subtotal functions, conditional formatting, etc.).
Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations.
Strong experience with querying large data sets from data warehouses using languages such as SQL, SAS, R, and/or Python.
Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction.
Strong, demonstrated strategic, analytical thinking, and consulting skills.
Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership.
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$66,800 - $91,100 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
