Mauer USA, LLC Head of Accounting in Hebron, Kentucky
Duties: Support Plant Management in the development of plans, budgets, and (re-)forecasts for Mauer USA, a company of approximately 60 employees, that are compatible with and supportive of KM-Packaging Group’s KPIs used for the active management of the company. Oversee cost controlling in conjunction with other departments. Prepare monthly and annual financial statements to further enhance the development of the organization’s overall financial strategy. Oversee year-end audit (incl. all performed inventories) and preparation of Annual Report. Ensure accounting activities are in line with U.S. GAAP accounting principles and review any updates on a rolling basis. Coordinate all tax-related tasks in cooperation with CPA firm. Carry responsibilities in monthly payroll accounting. Prepare decision-making basis and implement calculation schemes for CAPEX/OPEX projects and new investments, e.g. profitability calculations/ comparisons, in conjunction with German HQ. Liaise with lawyers, auditors, tax authority, and banks to ensure all policies, procedures, standards of performance, and compliance are adhered to. Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting continuous risk management and internal audits to strengthen internal controls ensuring the smooth operation of all finance and accounting processes. Build a strong liaison with President/CEO/CFO at German parent HQ. Translate business documents, communication etc. when needed (between English & German).Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or closely related field. 1 year of “Big 4” firm experience in audit, taxation, M&A, or due diligence, 1 year of professional experience in accounting or related matters pertaining to the manufacturing or packaging components industry, and 1 year of experience with budgeting and risk management (all experience may be concurrent). Also requires: comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP; proficiency in accounting software solutions (including DATEV); high level of competence with all functions of Microsoft Office Suite, including logical statements (“If”, “And”, “Or” functions) and data mining (“Vlookup”, “Hlookup”) in Excel; advanced analytical and decision-making skills; excellent presentation and organizational skills; and must be able to convey complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner (in both English and German).
