Description
Key Responsibilities
Safety
Direct and ensure safety guidelines and procedures are followed, guaranteeing safety for all employees
Collaborate with the safety coordinator and plant manager to address safety issues, conduct routine employee training, and resolve equipment safety concerns
Conduct daily Safety walks when the plant manager is not available
Productivity
Oversee overall productivity and efficiencies of the plant floor, aligning resources and projects with company goals and metrics
Manage and direct appropriate labor and staffing to achieve production goals, ensuring proper alignment across work centers and shifts
Implement shop floor organization using developed scheduling tools to support material flow
Conduct daily "Gemba walks" with the plant manager to address any concerns
On-Time Delivery
Work closely with Plant Manager, Production Control, and Scheduling team to meet commitments and due dates
Align staffing, resources, and equipment to meet the company's 95% On-Time Delivery (OTD) goal
Monitor daily shipping goals and support efforts to meet these targets
Execute the schedule and reduce obstacles to meeting scheduled commitments
Quality
Monitor overall quality performance on the shop floor, providing direction to reduce internal and external quality rejects
Manage projects related to reducing internal rejects and reworks, aligning resources with company quality goals
Conduct root cause analysis and develop action items supporting quality improvement
Take overall responsibility for product quality on the shop floor
Staffing
Enforce all policies and procedures, acting within the guidelines of the labor agreement
Work closely with the union to address complaints and grievances
Provide leadership, direction, and training to accomplish company goals and objectives
Support the Plant Manager in managing overtime and staffing needs
Required Qualifications
Management experience
Background in manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, project management, and lean methodologies
Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 basics
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and knowledge of an Operating System (preferably Epicor) for shop floor data collection
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Five or more years of plant supervision/general management experience in a manufacturing environment

Work Environment
Work is generally performed in both office and manufacturing environments
Moderate noise levels
Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions
Use of standard office equipment including computers, printers, and communication devices
