Amentum Network Security Administrator in Hawthorne, Nevada
Amentum is seeking a Network Security Administrator I to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Network Security Administrator will be a key staff member with the Information Management (IT) Department. Typical functions include installation of software security applications, training and maintenance of training records, scanning and remediation of network security vulnerabilities, and reporting to various agencies on network security status. Network Security Administrator will ensure network device adherence to all DoD security directives and standards.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Typical Responsibilities Include :
Conduct daily administration and operation on IT security in computing resources infrastructure including vulnerability scan and remediation, security audit, intrusion detection analysis, intrusion prevention and other related support.
Deploy and configure new security software upgrades and appliances.
Provides complex technical oversight and enforcement of security directives, standards, and procedures.
Provide and maintain user training records for Army network.
Respond to IDS and other security alerts.
Maintain up-to-date equipment and software inventories to provide required reports and updates to DoD oversight and eMASS.
Conduct regular and on-demand network scans with DoD ACAS scanner to detect vulnerabilities.
Assist the Network Administrator with the responsibility for assuring patches, upgrades and security issues are maintained to all current DoD directives.
Attends meetings as required to report on and resolve Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) data communication problems.
Track and respond to all DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts and Operational Orders (OPORDS) and Taskers.
Supports the IT Manager to determine limitations of existing systems and performs duties as alternate Network Administrator.
Documents maintenance actions into necessary systems.
Supports the Network Infrastructure in case of critical outages.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 - 3 years’ experience in Network Administration or equivalent.
CompTIA Security+ certification required for position.
Must be able to obtain secondary Computing Environment certification, per Army regulations, within 6 months of hire.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
Must also be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
Good writing and verbal communication skills.
Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by the Master Training Plan.
Desired Qualifications
Good understanding of vulnerability detection and remediation processes.
Candidate must have good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
Must be familiar with Microsoft Configuration Management Console and Active Directory.
Must be able to demonstrate independent decision-making skills where problems and situations are based largely on precedent or practice.
Safety Sensitive Position
This position is designated as non-safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the Hawthorne Army Depot Commander and HWAD O&M contract requirements.
