We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Fleet Manager to join our team and oversee all aspects of our fleet management.

Description:The Fleet Manager at SkyHop Global is responsible for managing all company vehicles, ensuring their optimal performance and compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. This role involves developing fleet operations policies and procedures, maintaining fleet budgets, and ensuring overall fleet safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update electronic databases for registration, inspections, and maintenance of the fleet.

  • Obtain tags for new vehicles and renew old ones to ensure timely fleet management.

  • Ensure fleet availability by scheduling, forecasting, and analyzing user trends to anticipate repairs or replacements.

  • Research and develop specifications for vehicles, equipment, supplies, and materials.

  • Handle vehicle registration, insurance, permitting formalities, and documentation for new vehicle induction when needed

  • Oversee routine and ad hoc maintenance by executing a vehicle and equipment maintenance/replacement schedule.

  • Negotiate repair costs and parts pricing with commercial vendors.

  • Review and process purchase requisitions for parts and supplies; review vendor bid responses for tools, equipment, parts, and services; monitor expenditures.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Maintain equipment records in accordance with laws and policies.

  • Utilize Samsara to organize fleet schedules and requests.

  • Streamline and monitor the fuel purchase system with WEX cards for all vehicles and drivers.

  • Develop and implement operational standards to maintain vehicles according to industry best practices.

  • Plan, process, and execute vehicle purchases and replacements efficiently.

  • Create departmental and fleet expense and capital budgets, track performance, and report to management.

  • Collaborate with station managers to ensure fleet preparedness with all safety equipment in stations with inclement weather.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures involved in vehicle maintenance, repairs, and replacement.

  • Proficiency in using an automated Fleet Management Information System (FMIS) like Samsara ( a plus)

  • Ability to coordinate programs, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of FMCSA compliance regulations and guidelines.
