Job Title: Millwright

Job Description

Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pumps, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other production machinery. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and examining form and texture of parts. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges. Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery. Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment. Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment. Assist with planning and closing the loop on work orders in Maximo. Record parts and materials used, and order or create requisitions for new parts and materials as necessary. Record repairs and maintenance performed. Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Hard Skills

• Red Seal 433A Millwright License or Electromechanical College Diploma in Quebec

• 2+ years of Canadian Millwright experience in an industrial environment

• Experience with mechanical devices, pneumatic controls, belts, and chains

• Own set of tools

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Hawkesbury, Ontario.

Work Environment

Industrial roofing manufacturing plant with a hot and dusty environment. The facility includes four different areas: Shingle Line, Oxidizer, Crusher, and Razz section. The work environment is 40% outside and 60% inside. The maintenance team consists of 12 people, along with additional contractors, and is supervised by an electrical supervisor, a maintenance supervisor, and a maintenance manager. Shifts are 7am-7pm/7pm-7am on a continental schedule.
