This position requires extensive, weekly travel in across Mississippi. The ideal candidate has expertise and experience in Early Childhood Education.

Job Summary:

The primary role of a Grant Specialist I is to provide training and coaching toearly childhoodparticipants in grant initiatives. Reporting to the Grant Project Director, this professional will implement key activities of assigned grants and is compliant with grant requirements and regulations. They utilize evidence-based strategies to deliver comprehensive training, enhancing the capacity ofearly childhood participants while also providing targeted coaching using prescribed protocols, ensuring continuous growth and improvement. They supportearly childhoodparticipants’ use of data for decision-making and collaborate with leadership personnel at participating sites/schools. Finally, they assist grant leadership with other grant activities such as assessment, reporting, dissemination, and other assigned duties, driving the success of our grant initiatives. Extensive in-state travel is required weekly.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, Project Director, and other Specialists to select professional development participants grant initiatives and activities.

  • Deliver training using evidence-based strategies to enhance the capacity ofearly childhood professional development participants in grant initiatives and activities.

  • Provide coaching to grantearly childhood participants using prescribed, evidence-based coaching protocols.

  • Support the use of implementation, intervention, and outcome data to support decision-making by grantearly childhoodparticipants using prescribed protocols.

  • Collaborate with administrative personnel atearly childhood sites/schools participating in grant initiatives and activities.

  • Assists with project management, reporting, dissemination, and other duties as assigned to ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, behavioral sciences, or related field. Five years’ experience providing educational or behavioral services to children and youth in PK-12 settings. Relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for education. Current, valid Mississippi teaching license or eligibility to attain such license within the first six months of employment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Skill in completing tasks and developing materials accurately, on time, and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze and prepare plans, documents, reports, and correspondence accurately and using Standard professional English.

  • Adept in, or the ability to learn, a variety of technologies and software including (but not limited to) Microsoft Tools (Office, Teams, etc.), Google Apps, Canvas, social media and networking (including Facebook, and Constant Contact), email, Blackboard ALLY, and Webinar platforms.

  • Must maintain currency on relevant research, professional certifications, and continuing education in the area of academic success for PK12 students.

  • Exhibit individual initiative and the ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.

  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, University policies and procedures.

  • Resourceful and determined to provide a positive experience for professional development participants.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to be supportive and motivational while working with a diverse population.

  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion, including operating within FERPA guidelines.

  • Demonstrates adaptability and persistence while working with professional development participants.

  • Possesses or can obtain a driver’s license and reliable transportation prior to employment.

  • Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.

  • Ability to engage in overnight travel as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience presenting to large groups. Experience providing ongoing coaching around evidence-based initiatives. Experience leading meetings. Technology skills including use of Office Suite applications and/or Google Workspace applications.
