Job Summary:

Manages financial operations of the academic unit. Maintains financial records and ensures compliance with all fiscal and other relevant university policies.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the budget analyst for the school, overseeing and reconciling E&G budgets, DE budget accounts, and grants. Forecast expenses, provide budgetary recommendations to the School Director, manage year-end close reconciliation, and prepare reports for the Office of Fiscal Planning and other entities.

  • Monitor and reconcile fiscal administration for the School and faculty, including budgets, funding, employment, travel, and purchasing. Assist the Director in preparing annual budget requests for the university.

  • Process all purchase orders/procurement card transactions and receiving of goods, services, and reimbursement through the University. Maintain files for reconciliation, statements, and receipts. Responsible for purchasing commodities, equipment, and contractual services.

  • Prepare and process all requests for purchases and other expenditures from school accounts, including reviewing for fund availability, communicating with vendors, transmitting approved requests to the appropriate university unit, and monitoring requests through to delivery for the School, faculty, and staff.

  • Coordinate and complete necessary processes and forms to administer the hiring of School faculty, staff, student workers, and graduate assistants. Maintain communication with Human Resources to ensure new hires are onboarded appropriately.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting from an accredited college or university and 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Able to work with significant deadline pressure;

  • Ability to interact professionally using excellent customer service skills with potential students, students, faculty, and staff in a team environment;

  • Ability to work with diverse populations;

  • Ability to maintain and manage highly sensitive and confidential information and communications with discretion and integrity;

  • Strong project management and time management skills, highly detail-oriented and with strong organizational skills;

  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Proven execution of standard office administrative practices and procedures with a focus on efficiency and process improvement;

  • Demonstrated supervisory and personnel management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of experience with Peoplesoft financials management module.
