Job Title: Brake Press Operator

Job Description

The Press Brake Operator will run smaller CNC press brakes that run Air Bends, metal on metal for thin gauge (20g) stainless steel parts. Operators must have experience with setting up the machines as well as changing out the die kits or at least have a background in reading blueprints to build parts, engines, cars, etc. The Brake Press operator will be working with precision tools, cutting, and measuring down to 1,000's of an inch. They will work with blueprints to set up the brake press and then use measuring tools to ensure precision. Brake Press operators will work with micrometers, calipers, protractors, measuring tapes, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate brake press machines.

  • Work with stainless steel, bending metal and sequencing.

  • Ensure accurate sequencing to avoid parts fitting issues.

  • Use precision tools to cut and measure materials down to 1,000's of an inch.

  • Work with micrometers, calipers, protractors, measuring tapes, and blueprints.

Essential Skills

  • At least one year of recent brake press experience doing setups, adjustments, working with blueprints and bending and sequencing, OR at least one year of CNC machining experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Experience with micrometers, calipers, protractors, measuring tapes, and blueprints.

  • Knowledge of bending and sequencing for stainless steel parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Accurpress or Safan brands is ideal, but any brand experience will be considered.

  • Ability to set up and change tooling.

Work Environment

This position is for the 2nd shift, running from 2pm to 10pm, Monday through Friday, in a clean and well-lit facility spanning 155,600 sq ft between two locations. The dress code is casual with jeans allowed, but steel-toed shoes are required. The work environment involves handling thin gauge sheet metal in a job shop setting, with a focus on air purifiers and small industrial enclosures.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hartland, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $62400.00
