Description:

The Certified Technician – Sterile Processing Lead provides safe, quality health care services & / or assistance by ensuring strict adherence to & performing sterile processing functions (i.e., cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, high level disinfection, assembly & packaging, installation, sterile storage & distribution) & disposal processes of surgical instruments / devices to assure that instruments, equipment & supplies are safe / ready for use & promotes professional accountability for effective levels of practice & education.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; Meets requirements for applicable state(s) of engagement; At least five years of sterilization & Instrumentation experience; Nationally recognized specialty certification according to assignment area (e.g., CSPDT (CBSPD) or CRCST (HSPA)).

Additional Qualifications (nice to have)

Additional certification in at least one of the following:

  • Sterile Processing Management (CSPM) or Healthcare Leadership (CHL)

  • Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist (CSIS) or Instrument Specialist (CIS)

  • Perform work that involves physical efforts (e.g., transporting, moving, positioning & / or ambulating patients). Continuous
