CVS Health Senior Manager, Central Fulfillment Pharmacy Operations in Hartford, Connecticut

Central Fulfillment & Pharmacy Process Innovation leader will lead a multi-unit operation to maintain the existing $300M+ value in inventory reduction while executing on the operational strategy to achieve additional value goals to achieve an end-state of $600M in value. This includes direct management oversight of Central Fill pharmacies and support of the Central Fill co-op in the Caremark Mail Order Facility. In addition, they will develop and execute strategies to drive cost reductions and efficiencies within the program, including owning a roadmap for process innovations to reduce shipping cost, labor cost, and expansion. This includes ensuring a positive experience for retail stores that are live on Central Fill by managing the field-facing relationship and managing a roadmap for process improvement for retail stores. This leader will track regulatory guidance for Central Fill and ensure pharmacy teams are set up for compliant operations, including development and execution of the licensure strategy. They will work regularly with various stakeholders including Regulatory, Logistics, Procurement, and Finance. This leader and their team will also support other retail process innovation projects as part of the Pharmacy Innovation and Engineering portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct management oversight of Central Fill pharmacies and support of the Central Fill co-op in the Caremark Mail Order Facility

  • Develop and execute strategies to drive cost reductions and efficiencies within the program, including owning a roadmap for process innovations to reduce shipping cost, labor cost, and expansion to achieve $600M in inventory reduction value.

  • Create an optical culture of talent development. Provide guidance, direction and support to teams and departments to ensure smooth and optimal performance.

  • Responsible for the leadership development, succession planning and driving engagement programs for teams you oversee. Promoted a high-performance culture by clearly setting goals and expectations.

  • Manage the field-facing relationship and managing a roadmap for process improvement for retail stores.

  • Track regulatory guidance for Central Fill and ensure pharmacy teams are set up for compliant operations, including development and execution of the licensure strategy.

  • Work regularly with various stakeholders including Regulatory, Logistics, Procurement, and Finance; serve as the SME to the organization, including executive leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in pharmacy management, with high volume experience preferred and/or demonstrated experience leading large, cross-functional teams in matrix environment

  • Must possess highly developed relationship-building skills to foster effective working relationships both within the Pharmacy Operations group, and across CVS Health (Logistics, Customer Insights, IT, Finance, Regulatory, and Field Management, among other internal partners)

  • 8+ years’ experience proven track record of influencing others with and without authority

  • 8+ years’ experience building high-performing, successful teams developing key talent. Demonstrated passion for bringing new leaders along and helping them realize their ability to impact the business.

  • 8+ years’ experience actively taking on issues in a decisive manner, while keeping broader team dynamics in mind and empowering your leaders to obtain results through building behaviors.

  • 8+ years’ experience leading under pressure, adapting to changing dynamics in real time, and finding solutions that satisfy multiple ‘customers’ of the business.

  • 8+ years’ experience understanding and breaking down highly complex situations to deliver impactful solutions in real time.

  • 8+ years’ experience effectively demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills, very strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • 8+ years’ experience collaborating effectively across different business functions, different perspectives, and different styles of leadership.

  • Experience with process innovation, business case development, solution definition, process mapping, and new system development

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant business impact.

  • Experience in utilizing data to drive innovation; expertise in the development of operational metrics and reports to support an operation and broader continuous improvement efforts.

  • Outstanding strategic thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to vision the future state, test hypotheses, and synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable strategies and tactical plans.

  • RPh License in good standing

  • Travel- Ability, and willingness, to travel regularly, 25% of time, based on needs of the business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Flexible and can manage and operate effectively through ambiguity.

  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Keen ability to distill complex ideas into simpler frameworks and illustrations.

  • Ability to understand complex projects with disparate value delivery modalities and prioritize them against each other.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$75,400.00 - $199,144.80

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
