The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:

Summary of Role:

RTX has an opening for an experienced Application Developer that will collaborate with the Digital Team supporting RTX's Research Center (RTRC) located in East Hartford, CT. This role will be responsible for RTRC's in-house applications support, maintenance and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and code applications solving business issues

  • Develop diagrams and flow charts on computer operation process as well as test and analyze programming applications

  • Determine, develop and document software specifications throughout production lifecycle while offering input to SDLC and edit documentation

  • Analyze and rectify software errors and present precise status reports on time

  • Upgrade and offer patches to existing applications

  • Develop technical documentation to support application maintenance

  • Research and document software users’ requirements

  • Guide re-engineering of applications responding to customer requests

  • Resolve programming issues by applying problem solving skills

  • Maintain and monitor project plans and undertake project tasks as required

  • Organize, attend and participate in stakeholder meetings

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years minimum SQL (database design), MS Visual Basic, .NET Framework, TSQL, MVC, C#, Python, Java, MS Office, MS Project (or equivalent) and Agile

  • 5-8 years minimum C++, BI tools, JavaScript Frameworks, and familiarity with DevOps tools

  • 5-8 years minimum Object Orientation Principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Angular and Blazor

  • Demonstrate people skills to mentor others and deal with difficult situations

  • Communicate well with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Creative and proactive problem-solver demonstrating clear and thoughtful approaches to challenging technical problems solving real business needs

Education:

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
