Under supervision of the Registered Nurse, the ED Patient Care Technician (PCT, PCA, CNA) is responsible for completing delegated tasks and specific duties to support patient care. ED PCT responsibilities include, but are not limited to, movement of patients throughout the department, completion of point of care testing (EKGs, fingersticks, pregnancy/urine tests), continuous observation of high risk patients, assisting patients with activities of daily living , performing CPR, proactive hourly rounding on all assigned patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting within the electronic medical record, and more. Our Patient Care Technicians (PCT, PCA, CNA) perform selected interventions and activities that contribute to providing comprehensive care to patients. In addition, along with the care team, this position is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience. Our Patient Care Technicians (PCT, PCA, CNA) perform in a high acuity environment with multiple priorities. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder for Patient Care Technicians based on experience, skillsets, and certifications held. · No experience required; training on-site provided, including BLS certification. · High school diploma or GED preferred. · Certifications as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT or CMA to be eligible for advancement in the PCT clinical career ladder.
