Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$101,300.00 - $167,200.00

What Is the Opportunity?

The Manager, Supplier Diversity, will lead the management and continuous improvement of Travelers' Supplier Diversity Program, including the ongoing development, execution, and enhancement of the Program to align and integrate with Travelers' overall diversity initiatives and company objectives.

What Will You Do?

  • Work to develop strategies, processes, objectives and reporting specific for the Supplier Diversity Program across all lines of business.

  • Work closely with identified Travelers leaders in the development of diverse supplier strategies, identifying diverse supplier categories and reporting spend with diverse suppliers as a function of total spend.

  • Collaborate with sourcing representatives, procurement operations and internal business partners towards consistently including diverse suppliers in the competitive bidding process, identifying growth potential with existing suppliers, and looking for opportunities to improve the spend reporting process.

  • Track and report diverse spend from all business units within Travelers, including customer specific diversity spend reporting and analysis, as well as external reporting requests including regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Maintain and certify evidence to support publicly shared spend information and information shared with regulatory agencies.

  • Work closely with sales and account management to assist in drafting responses to request for proposals (RFPs) and request for information (RFI)

  • Serve as business relationship owner and subject matter expert for the diverse supplier spend reporting software application.

  • Attend and participate in diversity conferences, trade shows and procurement meetings when required, and maintain memberships with key local and national advocacy organizations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a role of managing a supplier diversity program

  • 2+ years of experience, engagement and deep working knowledge with supplier diversity topics, trends, and principles

  • 2+ years of experience in building strategy and working with key stakeholders (analytics, operations, sales, or account management environment)

  • Demonstrated outcome-focused experience with orientation for action and ability to follow-through and meet deadlines

  • Relevant business process knowledge, as related to Financial Reporting, Supplier Diversity, Procurement and Category Management

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of most financial concepts and can easily incorporate knowledge into day-to-day work

  • Experience working on complex financial tasks with the ability to fully understand the data, historical background, see the full picture, and bring insights back to management.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity

  • Ability to analyze trends and variances in business performance against broad business objective.

  • Perform testing and validation of data and analyses with a strong understanding and ability to communicate data limitations and gaps

  • Excellent influencing and networking skills

  • Experience in spend reporting and analytics

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Proven analytical capability; proficient in gathering and translating large amounts of data into actionable recommendations

  • Ability to conduct industry and functional research and concisely synthesize findings

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid presentation skills

What is a Must Have?

  • Two years of finance, financial planning, accounting, procurement or related experience

  • Ability to travel 10%+/-
