Position Summary
One of the main goals of Medical Economics is to mitigate medical cost increases. This comes in a variety of forms- monitoring and taking actions on outliers, properly modeling contract increases, providing accurate data for modeling and pricing, etc. What this results in is lower medical costs for our plan sponsors and members, and then lower premium increases.
This finance role will be to govern the Scorable Action Initiative (SAI) database, provide meaningful and accurate reporting and insights into each business units performance to target, and collaborate with senior leadership on monthly National meeting materials.
Responsibilities:
Daily:
Review financial savings estimates and targets submitted by various business areas for accuracy and book the results to she SAI database. Communicate significant results to leadership as necessary.
Maintain daily scorecard results for all medical cost business areas.
Weekly:
- Maintain and present on pipeline reporting (new ideas) to Clinical Services.
Monthly:
Create detailed reporting and glidepaths to be used by Senior Leadership on monthly National Meetings.
Create reporting to be posted on a SharePoint site and used by all business partners to monitor results.
Required Qualifications
1+ year of experience working with Excel, MS-Access and Web-based query tools
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to prioritize & manage multiple projects while managing customer expectations and business priorities
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with colleagues
Extensive knowledge of managed care and how clinical and provider reimbursement policies relate to the control of medical claims costs
Understanding of internal and external database applications
Knowledge of market-place delivery (understanding of provider relationships)
Communication/presentation skills
Software and programming skills
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in business or finance OR equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$43,888.00 - $93,574.80
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
