Job Summary: The Director of the Center for Anti Infective Research and Development (CAIRD) is responsible for directing the overall operations and strategic vision of the Center. Responsibilities include oversight of the research program portfolio, management of staffing resources and administration of Center finances. The Director is instrumental in obtaining new business opportunities to continue the expansion and programmatic development of the laboratory. The position reports to the Senior Director of Research. Job Responsibilities: 1. Provide leadership for the conduct and growth of CAIRD research including the mentoring of senior staff to make meaningful contributions to the scientific efforts of the Center. 2. Serve as the CAIRD subject matter expert in the field of antimicrobial research and development. 3. Drive collaborations and maintain exceptional relationships with external investigators and companies to enhance the productivity and financial stability of CAIRD. 4. Oversee the submission of external grant proposals to support the scientific mission and business plan for the Center. 5. Responsible for management of the CAIRD budget including revenue and expense oversight. 6. Effectively communicates clear performance expectations, monitors progress and make appropriate staffing adjustments. 7. Demonstrates visibility and builds trust among all research team members. PharmD or PhD in a field of biological science, PharmD or PhD in microbiology or pharmaceutical sciences preferred. Five (5) years of clinical research experience as a Principal Investigator and experience leading a research team. Ten (10) years of clinical research experience as a Principal Investigator and experience leading a research team. We take great care of careers.
