Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$157,000.00 - $259,200.00

What Is the Opportunity?

This position is the overall Risk Management and Underwriting Analysis lead for Small Commercial Business Insurance. This role has leadership responsibility for Risk and Catastrophe Management in developing countrywide and geographic strategies, tools and capabilities for Small Commercial and represents Small Commercial at BI and Enterprise Risk Group discussions. Additionally, this role has key leadership responsibility for building, advancing and executing Small Commercial's Portfolio Analysis strategies and capabilities. This role partners broadly across Small Commercial, Business Insurance and the Enterprise in the development of risk management strategies and works with Field and Business Centers to support profit, growth and organizational objectives.

What Will You Do?

  • Partners with Small Commercial Underwriting and Product Leadership, BI UW CAT Risk Management and Enterprise CAT in developing strategic vision for overall risk management, including catastrophe risk.

  • Oversees the development of countrywide and geographic risk management and CAT underwriting and product strategy in partnership with Product Management and Region Leadership. Makes recommendations, monitors risk/reward and recommends strategic reviews where appropriate.

  • Oversees the strategy and design of Small Commercial portfolio and risk management analysis and monitoring capabilities. Identifies and defines portfolio monitoring needs, designs and delivers industry, product and underwriting analysis in support of Small Commercial Underwriting and Product through management of shared analytical capacity.

  • Leads a team providing comprehensive analysis across Small Commercial, including post-monitoring for newly implemented strategies, tools and practices. Generates business focused and actionable insights and obtains organizational buy-in through influential communication and productive relationships across Small Commercial and Business Insurance.

  • In a highly matrixed environment, influences and partners with broader analytic functions across Small Commercial and Business Insurance to coordinate, design and deliver actionable analytics. Supports the onboarding and development of analytic resources, including engagement with the Product Management Development Program (PMDP).

  • Technical CAT & UW Analysis expert who consults with senior leadership in the development of business strategies and develops operational plans; accountable for driving those strategies through others.

  • Leads and influences product design, offering and configuration supporting Catastrophe Risk Management, including associated tools and capability automation.

  • Leads complex initiatives and projects and/or oversees projects led by team members to continuously improve modeling, tools, technology, and processes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What is a Must Have?

  • 6 years P&C insurance product, underwriting and/or analytics experience.
