Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$142,500.00 - $235,100.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Learning is essential to everything we do. At Travelers, the Enterprise Learning Enablement team utilizes learning technology to develop, assess, and lead organizational programs and processes to deliver optimal learning experiences and strategies to meet short- and long-term business goals and objectives. As an AVP, Learning Enablement, you will provide strategic leadership, direction, and operational oversight of enterprise Learning capabilities. You will have accountability for learning technology product ownership, learning technology ecosystem strategy, and operational functions that support content delivery. You will serve as an enterprise thought leader and educator on learning enablement processes and technology, and work in close collaboration and partnership with enterprise functional areas and business units to set priorities, identify and build new learning capabilities to deliver business solutions. This position manages learning and training professionals.

What Will You Do?

  • Have product ownership of foundational learning technology platforms and content providers, which includes the contract/license administration, work intake, governance, process flows, and overall operational model associated with each platform.

  • Provide outside-in thought leadership and direction in shaping the digital and operational vision for learning. This includes the development, communication, and execution of learning technology and operational strategies.

  • Leverage key Enterprise Learning metrics that inform usage of capabilities, employee engagement, sustainable adoption, etc.

  • Create continuity of services by diversifying and distributing working knowledge of platforms across the team. Lead the overall execution and technical delivery process of all Corporate Compliance Training Function (LRN) for the business (Corporate Legal, Cyber, HR, etc.)

  • Provide leadership and direction that drive the culture shift of digital learning and enhance the capabilities of content delivery.

  • Drive strategy for vendor management; identify, evaluate, and negotiate vendor alternatives.

  • Oversee Offshore resources that are used to supplement the Learning Design work across the Enterprise. Manage relationship, contract, and work intake process to maximize investment and reduce expenses.

  • Partner with Corporate technology and HR technology to prepare for version updates and releases.

  • Oversight of the development of tools and modules for training programs and curriculums.

  • Create work processes for enterprise-wide programs and/or learning enablement initiatives to increase organizational effectiveness.

  • Direct, coach and develop team(s) to provide world-class solutions and maximize effectiveness and return on investment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.

  • Ten years of experience in Insurance, Operations and Technology, and eight years of creating and implementing technology standards and best practices; or equivalent experience.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to bring industry best practices and regulatory knowledge to the table in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

  • Expert project management skills and the ability to manage projects with an enterprise-wide scope. Expert design, development, and facilitation principles.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and planning effective strategies, with the ability to lead a team to implement those strategies. Foster an inclusive team environment that encourages innovative ideas and diversity of thought.

  • Proactively assess potential financial impacts of decisions across the enterprise. Demonstrate sound cost-effectiveness. Ability to drive cost-reduction measures through innovative and creative solutions.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and interact with all levels of the organization. Ability to present and translate complex information to senior leadership and non-technical teams in relevant business terms.

  • Advanced leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop team members, leverage differences, and strategically align resources to accomplish key objectives in a highly matrixed environment.

What is a Must Have?

  • Eight years of experience in Learning, Insurance Operations, Technology, or related experience.
