Trinity Health Ambulatory Surgery PACU Registered Nurse RN - Per Diem in Hartford, Connecticut

Position Purpose:

At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center , the Registered Nurse RN in the Ambulatory Surgery PACU delivers patient care for same-day surgeries.

What you will do:

  • Fast-paced unit; includes patients from the Main and Ambulatory Operating Room whose patients require recovery from anesthesia

  • Work Pre-Op and assist with regional nerve blocks, starting/monitoring IVs, anesthesia, pre-operative instructions, and assessments.

  • Work Post Op and PACU phase 1 and 2 recovery from anesthesia, report to receiving InPatient units and patient’s family, and discharge education.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education : Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree preferred.

  • Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Must hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit PACU nursing is required. Position WILL NOT train.

  • BLS or CPR certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

  • ACLS and PALS Certification: Required within six months of hire.

  • Proficiency in practicing according to the recommended standards and guidelines set forth by ASPAN (American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nursing) is a requisite skill.

Position Highlights and Benefits:

Part-Time – Per Diem - Rotating Shift.

  • Monday thru Friday, no weekend or holiday commitment.

  • Variable Day shift rotations with ranging start times of 5:30 am, 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, or 9:00 am.

  • Shifts range from 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts, based on unit needs
