Job Title: Electrician Technician

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Electrician Technician to join our team for the Carrier Library Addition/Renovation project located on the West Side of 81 at JMU. This position involves a variety of electrical tasks essential to the completion of the project.

Responsibilities

• Cut, bend, thread, and run 1/2", 3/4", and 1" electrical conduit materials.

• Pull electrical wiring through electrical conduit as a Mechanic/Journeyman.

• Hook up and terminate electrical panels, set fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices.

• Demonstrate dependability and commitment to completing the project from start to finish.

Essential Skills

• Experience with wiring in construction, commercial, and industrial settings.

• Proficiency in running and bending conduit.

• MC Cable experience.

• Rigid bending/running experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Apprentice level or higher in electrical work.

Work Environment

Work will be conducted in all weather conditions at the JMU Carrier Library site. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week, with potential for increased hours as the project nears completion. The project is expected to conclude in Fall 2025. Employees living more than 40 miles away will receive a daily mileage reimbursement of $20.00.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
