Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Harrisonburg, Virginia

Description

We are offering an exciting project opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager! The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all general ledger accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, general billing, general ledger, and revenue postings from the electronic health record system.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all general ledger accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures

• Administer accounts payable and payroll functions, while also serving as the primary backup for these roles

• Manage the timing of payments to vendors, employees, and various payroll withholdings to ensure timely and accurate payments

• Review transactions to ensure they are correctly coded to the appropriate GL account, department, and/or program

• Take ownership of the closing process, including supporting staff in related roles, maintaining the closing schedule, and preparing journal entries for month-end closing as needed

• Conduct orientation and training for payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger activities

• Maintain a high volume workflow while managing competing demands and adapting to new work procedures

• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail

• Utilize strong spreadsheet and financial software skills to effectively manage financial records and track the organization's assets, liabilities, and revenue activities.

Requirements

• Proficiency in all general Accounting Functions and experience using the MUNIS application

• Experience in conducting and overseeing Auditing procedures

• Familiarity with Budget Processes and their implementation

• Sound understanding of Capital Management strategies

• Proven track record in producing accurate Financial Reporting

• Ability to establish effective Internal Control systems
