Advisors & Consulting Services

Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution. Our Advisors & Consulting Services team combines traditional management consulting with Mastercard’s rich data assets, proprietary platforms, and technologies to provide clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Our teams work with a diverse global customer base across industries, from banking and payments to retail and restaurants.

The Advisors & Consulting Services group has five specializations: Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management. Our Program Management consultants lead clients through business transformations by implementing strategically important Mastercard assets and services to bring value and drive growth. They serve as the Center of Engagement across all stakeholders within Mastercard and the client’s organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

You will manage a portfolio of projects that support a strategy, a strategic change, or initiative with significant impact on the organization. You will manage complexity and inherent risks across a wide range of business areas, where there are strong interdependencies and shared resources, and you will manage benefits from their initial identification and definition through to the eventual realization and achievement of measurable improvements.

Client Impact

• Manage deliverable development and workstreams on multiple large, complex high-value projects across a range of industries, problem statements, and cultures including the implementation of core payments products, security solutions, loyalty platforms, marketing execution projects and card program launches and conversions.

• Promote proven, accredited project and change management methodologies and techniques to help clients drive measurable value from initiation to benefit realization

• Mitigate risks, solve issues, and ensure plan remains in line with agreed timescales, budgets, and quality criteria

• Identify new business opportunities and communicate to executives to pursue, leading seales calls and client development including proposal contribution

• Own key relationships with mid-level to senior client stakeholders and independently assess client agenda, internal culture, and change readiness

Team Collaboration & Culture

• Lead team to creative insights and sound business recommendations, and deliver impactful and influential client presentations while growing team members’ roles and skills

• Provide expertise and day-to-day project delivery team leadership, supporting evolution of solutions with innovation and create a collaborative and inclusive environment for all levels

• Manage relationship with internal Mastercard leadership and stakeholders and build the firm's intellectual capital

• Effectively leverage subject matter experts to develop best customized solutions

• Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members, including evaluating performance, and providing feedback

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with work experience in project management and change management methodologies and techniques

• 6+ years of Project Management experience

• Exposure to financial institutions, payments, and/or consultancies

• Experience coaching and managing teams across multiple projects and/or engagements with third parties

• Experience managing key client relationships

• Knowledge of business KPIs, financials, and organizational leadership

• Ability to provide perspective on industry and marketplace

• Logical, structured thinking

• Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and clients in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Ability to communicate effectively in English and the local office language (if applicable)

• Eligibility to work in the country where you are applying, as well as apply for travel visas as required by travel needs

Preferred qualifications

• Experience leading development and implementation of solutions and measuring impact on clients' business

• Have completed or interested in pursuing recognized professional accreditation, such as Project Management Professional (PMP)

• Knowledge of Project Management tools

• Exposure to payments and/or retail banking or merchants

• Experience generating new knowledge or creating innovative solutions for a firm

• MBA or master’s degree with relevant specialization (not required)

Salary Range : $139,000 - $223,000

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
