DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision of a unit of counselors who are involved in providing rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities.  You will collaborate with employees to establish performance goals and complete evaluations to ensure adherence to identified standards.  This position involves reviewing case information and assigning tasks to the appropriate staff in addition to accessing and updating participant records within the web-based application.  You will develop and implement team building concepts and participatory methods towards achieving agency, district, and unit goals and objectives.  We are looking for someone with excellent critical thinking abilities and strong interpersonal skills, as you must maintain active and productive working relationships with public and private organizations, agencies, advocacy groups, and consumers to assess and modify, as appropriate, the delivery of vocational rehabilitation services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the assigned headquarters office. Salary:Most employees will start at the beginning level of the advertised salary. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor; Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Deaf and Hard of Hearing; Vision Rehabilitation Therapist; or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (commonwealth titles); or Two years as a Social Worker 2 (commonwealth title) in the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation; or Two years of professional experience in a public vocational rehabilitation program; AND a master's degree in vocational rehabilitation, mental health, special education, social work, human services, psychology, business administration, human resources, public administration, or a closely related field; or Two years of professional experience in a public vocational rehabilitation program; AND possession of an active Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certificate issued by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
