As a Tax Examiner 1, you will participate in a 6-month formal, informal, and on-the-job training program to develop the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to review and examine tax returns, schedules, and associated documents, and the interpretation and explanation of state tax laws, regulations, and procedures. You will become part of a team that ensures taxpayer returns are processed timely and accurately for sales and use accounts, PTA accounts, WET accounts, and VRT accounts. You will have the opportunity to work with the Employer Withholding Tax Return team to help clear suspensions when filing times are high. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, after successful completion of in-office training. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Note: You will be required to report in-office one day a month per commonwealth policy. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of general office work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
